About Shannon

Shannon started her blog in 2017 when Sienna was just 1 year-old. Since then, she has become a fierce advocate and activist for the Down syndrome and Disability community. She has advocated for education, healthcare, and disability rights.

The Blog, Advocacy, and Adventure

Hi, I’m Shannon — writer, disability advocate, and proud mom to two incredible girls.

My journey into advocacy began when my daughter Sienna was born, and over the years, my passion for inclusion, equity, and storytelling has only deepened.

As my daughters have grown, so have I — evolving as a mother, an activist, and a content creator. With a background in media, nonprofit work, and a heart firmly rooted in community, I’m now focused on building impactful projects that blend advocacy and education.

Coming soon:

  • a podcast amplifying disability voices
  • an advocacy swag shop to spread awareness with style
  • a political activist toolkit, and
  • a school based advocacy program designed to empower families and students alike.

This next chapter is about turning purpose into action — and I’m so glad you’re here for it.
